Do you get an Xmas bonus?

Used to get bonused quarterly until management decided it's application had become too "emotive". Consultation went out to roll the bonus (usually a percent of basic salary) into your basic and that was the end of that. Nice little bump in all honesty, which affected all your multipliers.
 
My old work used to give everyone £50 effective. 'Effective' in the sense that Payroll ensured that it was £50 after tax. For me, it was £74 pre-tax so that it would show up as £50 afterwards. Shocking the taxman takes one-thirds off it! (considering my wage was only £14.5k) This was in the mid-2000s as well, back in the days when we had a 10% tax band.
 
No Christmas Bonus as what I do is heavily commission based, last year however we had a Christmas party at work, it was outside though in a marquee that took 2 days to erect and apparently cost a fair whack, it was fully floored & heated, we had live music, pretty much unlimited free alcohol at the "bar" & food also.

We had a competition at Christmas where you got raffle tickets for hitting targets & they were drawn on the last day before we finished, people were winning things like 40" HDTV's & PS3's.
 
We get £10 towards our Xmas meal per head but you apparently you only get it if you attend, according to other staff on our companies' employee Facebook page. I thought we had £10 regardless of if we attended or not. We're open 7am-10am every day this year, only day off we have is Xmas day so we don't ever get to do anything anyway. There's 3 years worth of Xmas money built up in the safe which I think people who have left since should get but supposedly forfeit now. No idea where it ends up.

We have to pay too. They've chosen a goddamn expensive place this year, something like £25 and that's only in the daytime too! We do get a one-off longer lunch break though with it being daytime as you can't really fit a pub meal into 30 minutes, so that's a plus.

& a bar tab at the xmas works do, I never go to that as I have complete contempt for most of the people who work at my employers, wouldn't want to spend a minute of my spare time talking to them out of work. :mad:
 
Surprised to hear how many people get one. I don't think I've ever received one, my employer usually splashes out on Xmas party however (including free bar, contribtion to travel expenses etc) which when you add it up probably could have covered £50 a head bonus instead :(
 
I don't get a bonus, but as I work in a school there are a lot of perks at Christmas.

We get a full three course Christmas Dinner at the end of term as well as a Staff Party paid for by the school.

Also we're closed from Dec 20th until Jan 6th which doesn't come out of my Holiday entitlement.

I think I prefer that to money.

Supposed to get 20% bonus based on company performance, but they didn't hand anything out last year, bs.

No, I'm not getting a Christmas bonus either, the current MD scrapped the colleague Christmas £100 bonus shortly before I was employed 8 years ago, oddly he kept his £14 million Christmas bonus. Go figure.

Aye, I work for a big corp. The Xmas parties are immense but black tie alas. However they will get you there, dine and booze you out of your mind and get you home.
 
Nope, never have at any place I've worked (although there is a performance related one at my current place in April).

We do get a department Christmas Party (drinks not included), and about £10 a head for our individual team do.
 
Couple hundred bucks through the regular job but just found out that I was still on the books for a seasonal job I had for a couple years but didn't work this year - they called to ask me to resign so I'd be off the books and was told I have 50 hours of accumulated vacation time to be paid out - score!
