So my current employer one of the big healthcare company's are giving us £10 a head for are xmas party,so we are going to a local pub for are 2 drinks happy xmas to us all.

Then my Girlfriends company is having two,one for the company one for the department and gets to finish early both days and everything is paid for.

one at the radisson hotel and one at a restaurant.

so lets hear all of yours, good and bad company xmas partyas!

Somebody gets awkwardly drunk, decides to tell us all what they think of us, pointing out our flaws and zeroing in on our biggest insecurities for all to see. They then proceed to reel off all the secrets they've learned about each of us, before stomping off to the toilets to weep for two hours. And a fun time was had by all.

Usually pretty good! Have to pay though ~£15

Edit I lied, the above relates to a big ball. Also have a separate team meal 3 course... so that's a pretty sweet deal!

On the 21st December at some fairly posh restaurant. I shall not be going as most managers and directors will be going and sitting round a table pretending to laugh at their rubbish jokes and pretending to like them is not my idea of a night out.

Most of the workers are going out the night before around town, so I'll be going with them.

Stuck in a lifts, food fights in Chinese restaurants, saunas before meal, Greek dancing, disco dancing, good/bad restaurants, numerous drunk journeys home, hangovers from hell. Probably missed a few but I’ll stop there. :p:rolleyes:

Company hires one of many central London venues that provide generic xmas parties to companies... sometimes its good, sometimes they might as well have hired a cheap hall somewhere. Free drinks are provided, girls come around with trays of food/nibbles... everyone gets hammered - sometimes there is some sort of artistic show/entertainment.. then the DJ starts and everyone does the awkward wedding-reception style dad dance on the dance floor...

stuman sounds pretty much the same as mine!

I like your style Grumpy you will have a much better time!

all though 4 yager bombs for £10 shall be a good start / use of the £10

Global bluechip with billions in cash in the bank - for 5th year running, we are to fund the Xmas meal ourselves. With luck we might get one drink out of manager. I'm not going and will show similar goodwill in the future while in their employ and making future business purchase decisions. The stories I could tell ...

Mine in a nutshell.

The cheapest company I worked for gave us £30 a head, most of the others book a meal at those swanky manor houses/hotels. Current place includes a free hotel room if we share or £20 if we take a single room but they also cover taxes if you don't want to stay.

Usually get nothing, most places dont give you anything, nearly all places are self paid for and organised by employees, never worked anywhere which pays anything, sometimes line manager gives you half a day or something at their discresion.

However big bosses have siad they're going to come down and buy us a pint.

Wow depressing, I have never worked anywhere that doesn't lay on a good Xmas party.

My recent favourites have been the Namco game centre next to the London eye. They hired out the ground floor - all the games were free - the bar was free and there was proper food handed out buffet style around 8pm.

About 10-11pm they handed out burgers and other things and the bar stayed open/free until around 1 or 2am.

Most fun I had in recent years was drunk bumper cars!

I assume you are invited to your girlfriends partie. Any good company Xmas dinner invites spouses and partners.

Company booked out a hotel, James bond theme, casino company doing some roulette and card tables, open bar, 3 course meal, free room, presentation night, massive hamper for blokes and Tiffany jewelry for partners.

wow that sounds immense Jbod bet that was a pretty epic night

Yea it was, I have been trying to convince current employer to do it - but so far no luck :(

One year (previous place) they did the whole fake casino thing with (quite fit) women descending from the ceiling on ribbons and stuff.

Fake casinos don't work coz people don't care about the money, impossible to play poker in those circumstances.
