Forza esque racing game for PC?

So after cancelling my 'Next Gen' pre-orders and deciding to get a new graphics card instead I'm looking for a good racing game to get into.

Something along the lines of Forza where there is some customization and progression involved, but not necessarily, if there are any other style of racing game on the PC worth getting I'm open the opinions.
 
Iracing gets lots of love on here, which tbh is with good reason. Very good sim although quite hard to pick up but once you have you will love it.

Assetto Corsa has just become available on steam and thought I have not reid it myself it does look very good.

C.A.R.S is another which is probably worth checking out, oh and Rfactor :)

just dont listen to anyone who suggests richard burns rally :)
 
You'll find very few games (I know of Shift 2) that allows customisation with parts and decals etc. on the PC. Most are either pure bred racing simulators or arcade rally/racing; not the middle ground hybrid that Forza or GT kinda are.

If there is one, I'd be keen to know what it is!
 
Project Cars - not yet released and its a closed beta at the mo I think.
Assetto Corsa - not played it but seen some footage and looks good.
Shift 1 and 2 - Great games and look awesome after a couple mods.
 
My vote goes with Assetto Corsa, for a game that is in development still and just released the 1st update, this game is looking to be a work of art, I've only experienced half of the joy this game brings as only have KB input at the moment.

You can customise the car skin, gloves, helmet and wheels fairly easy even though it's so early in development.

Most expensive game I've bought (digitally) and worth every penny. £19.27
 
Shift 2 is probably the closest to a Forza feel on the pc atm.
You will have to mod it though, as the default handling is boat-like to say the least.

Assetto Corsa is pretty good, but it's just hotlapping at the moment so no real career / racing against AI for now. It will be added in at some point down the line.

If you have the money then get both.
 
pc does not have the type of games you are looking for.

I wish the guys who did the street legal games would do a new one that games car customization was insane

looks better than forza5 and gt6 to me :D next game gaming is such a joke word these days
 
I wish someone would combine a game like forza with an open world like GTA5, so you have to drive your modified car to the events :D You could even have races on the way like NFS:Underground!

Why would someone race a manual M135i Sport coupe when you could buy the DCT which shifts in 1/100th of a second?
Not very realistic is it :P

It was just a standard single player race series everyone had to use that car. I had no control over what mods were on the car, it wasn't my choice lol.
