I only hear mine when stress testing.

Thermalright Silver Arrow SB E Extreme CPU Cooler TY-143 Fans

Only had it a few months and now getting a Fathom AIO. (couldnt turn it down at the price.)

Ah right, I was going to get the K2 but I'm prefering this now, so think I may invest in one

I remember you mentioning you have height restrictions in your case. Bear in mind that the Thermalright coolers are 165mm tall.

That's right, according to the specs I have 163mm, but I'm hoping they are conservative and that I can fit 165 in.
As this cooler seems to perform better than the D14.
I was set on the K2 but depending on reviews the D14 seems better on average.
If I would notice any difference or not is another thing, its just nice to get the best I can fit in my case for obvious reasons.

Maybe I should just be sensible and get the D14 as it gets great reviews and will definetly fit without me modifying my side panel

The D14 was the king for a long long time. If it says that's the limit, than that's the limit.

What case do you have los?

Just measured to be sure. 173mm from face of motherboard to top of pipes. Keep in mind your RAM + fan need to be less than 173mm to.. so RAM can't be more than 33mm above motherboard either.

Just bought this fan, it fit in my cooler master elite 430, but the pipes are pushing on the window! Good temps though! 4ghz 1.43VCore 51C!

So it should fit.. just. :D

I run TY-143 fans on both my SA SB-E and TC14PE and never hear them.. well just barely when they reach 1000-1100rpm. They are as quiet as any good fan up to 1300rpm... now if you run them on up they do get louder.. but no louder than an H100 is at full speed.. well, 1dBA louder.. but cools better than H100 by 7c.
