This may not be as obvious as you think!

Basically I watched a video on youtube the other week of this guy who is a white supremacist and wants to turn his village into a pure white zone. There was one black guy in the village and the supremacist said he wasn't trying to kick him out but I don't believe it. It was on a 'Jeremy Kyle style' show and the audience scorned this guy and I think how disgustingly hypocritical!

My beliefs are that everyone has a right to what they believe. If this guy wants to make a white village and everyone that it would involve is happy about it I say go for it!

Basically what I'm saying is society says is trying to be all 'equal and diverse' however it will only be 'equal and diverse' to the people who they feel deserve it which is not the meaning of equality and diversity.

If you really believe everyone has a right to their beliefs, whether it be religious or what colour of skin people prefer, and as long as they are not dealing out harmful crap then you must treat them all equally...

My two peneth...

Believeing something and acting on it is something different.

Obviously there are racists out there but what can we do. But allowing them to make an area "white only" shouldn't be allowed.

And you think the black fella is going to be happy about it? Your definition of 'everyone' is a little short-sighted. As Maggy says, "You really haven't thought this through."

What about those who are not happy about it? You really haven't thought this through.

If they are not directly affected by it I don't think someone can remotely top someone form living they way they want to.

If he (or the people involved) own the land what can you do? There's a lot of things people do on their own land that people don't like but they can.

I don't think you thought your retort out fully.

I said ON THE CONDTION EVERYONE is happy with it, so in this case he can't do it.

Just because "you and your mates" decide something is cool and groovy does not make it so.
If this chap takes his white supremisit chums and buys up a small island in the South Pacific and then makes their own laws re immigration and skin tones etc etc then so be it, but while they live in the UK they can stick to the law of the land. Or they can FO....

Then you are saying one is not allowed to decide who goes on their land and who doesn't?

Now, call me cynical.

But I have a feeling that the kind of people who want to create racial exclusion zones are not doing so out of a desire for equality.

Freedom from oppression isn't the same as freedom to oppress.

You are saying that collective X should have the right to deny person Y from living in a certain area based off the colour of his skin/or any other meaningless variable - freedom in society means that the white person is free to live where he wants, as is the black person.

But neither the white or black person should ever be free to tell each other where they can or can't live.

The whole (if everybody is happy with it) part just seems like a sign off - in no society would 100% of people ever be OK with large racial exclusion zones.

It's not very complicated.

I think you all missing the point and your all proving it.

My point is:

If you preach equality and diversity you must respect all opinions whether they agree with your ideals or not.

Why on earth would all opinions be respected?.

If it's an idiotic short-sighted opinion it should be sneered it (like the one you posted), if it was insightful & intelligent I'm sure you could get a half-decent debate going - but as it's reeks of the kind of post made by a person with a different agenda then you will tend to be mocked.

You don't seem to understand what equality actually is, you want freedom to oppress - not equality.

And if you want equality then you must treat those who don't want equality with equality!!!!!!!!

Who is he oppressing? The people he doesn't like are not on his land!!!!!!

Yes everyone should have the right to deny ANY one from being on their property!!!!!

From a legal perspective it's just a number of things you are allowed to do, equality isn't something being pushed onto you - it's merely that no longer can people be activity excluded for spurious & unjust reasons.

The only freedom you lost was the one to discriminate.

So this mythical village would have no doctors visiting, firemen, policemen, council inspectors, schools - all the businesses who visit & people who drive through would just happen to be white? - or are you now talking about somebody's private land?. (which even many of the above will or could apply).

It's an idiotic & racist aspiration to begin with, if somebody wanted to challenge the existing legal structure then I've got a feeling they may need a better argument than.

"WHHHAAAAAAAAAAWHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, DEM POLITICALMAL KOWWECTNESS PEOPELEZE WONTTS LETS ME DIKSCRIMONAETE!!! WHAAAHWWHHAAA".

I think it's disgusting too.
