They definitely ought to be cheaper - no packaging + saving the environment and reducing the carbon footprint. How they value them to be more expensive as digital copies is beyond me

They are all EA games and it's EA who set the price, not Sony or Microsoft. If people want this to change, then complain to the publishers and vote with your wallets.

Its quite simple really.

Most games are still sold through bricks and mortar stores worldwide therefore games retailers like GameStop in the US or GAME over in the UK have a lot of influence over publishers looking to sell thier latest and greatest.

As indicated Publishers set the prices of thier titles not the platform operator (in this case Sony) although its likely the platform operator takes a percentage of said price.

If they decided to price digital under physical copies in Bricks and Mortar stores it means publishers would make less of a margin and the likes of GameStop and GAME would wither and die overnight.

What also must be considered is a large number of consumers still want physical copies and therefore these is still a significant market for it.

A happy medium would be that they are the same price but we do live in a capitalist society.

That and those platform operators as you put it still need physical stores (both high street and online) to sell their console hardware in the first place...

I may sell my ps3 slim when I get the ps4 ,

Is it a case of deactivating it and then reformat of the hdd to remove games/settings and so on?

cheers

Don't need to format it really. Just delete all the content, then deactivate the system and remove your accounts. For a PS3 I sold you can't delete 'ALL' accounts so I just quickly created 'user 1' and deleted mine.

I am so indecisive, it's unbelievable.

My brother has been told there is no way his PS4 will be delivered by launch day. So, seeing as he is a lot younger than me and I am only really interested in FIFA at launch, I have told him to cancel his order and decided to give him my pre-order.

Method in the madness being that I save £350 and still get to play it on launch day :D

Can anyone point me to a good release calendar for PS4, so I know when to actually pick myself one up. I would have kept it if Watch Dogs was out on launch, but that's gone down the kermit, so it just doesn't make any sense atm to knock £350 out so soon to xmas just to play FIFA.

Ive had my shopto confirmation email on Sunday, and mine was a mega bundle pack which I changed to. So it is probably just due to the amount of orders they are dealing with.

That would be SOME contract  :D

Lol, PS3's and 360's were tied in with phone contracts.. Think it will be the same with these new consoles?

I just keep thinking that I just want it now for the sake of it. I won't actually play it much until next year prob anyway :p.

Might save myself some money and get one later on, my current contract is out in June, there must be some deals floating around by then.. Mid-spec phone with PS4 for like £30 a month :p
