You get NMW in your second year.

Grimsby, sort us out lad.... I dont mind working for a 1k a week... as an apprentice.
Bloody hell. Are you apprentice king of grimsby?!
I'll go back to being an apprentice for a grand a week.
Think they might frown on a forty year old turning up for that job though![]()
If i can find another job like it ill be over the moon
Think you'll struggle! Most fully qualified engineers I work with in oil and gas aren't on that much!
U would hate being an apprentice now, Too much logbook work, Assessments etc
Do you get paid to fill in the logbooks and do the assessments?

Update: Offered a job with hitachi zosen inova today with the opportunity to complete my apprenticeship. Good news is good![]()

Sounds like good news
unless you had decided to do uni
Yep, sounds awful that £1000 p/w
Does a fully qualified Controls & Instrumentation Technician **** money for a living then?
In fact, going by that, you actually earn more money than some of the IP Attorneys that work in my firm. Impressive stuff!
Yeah they seem to earn a lot of money the ones who i used to work with had abit too much cash, Some also had there own businesses and property all over the uk too. I wouldn't like to estimate there money tbh
Probably why your company has had to lay some of you off! I have a strange feeling that at some point, somewhere a union has been involved in this...
My current company is an example of insane union interference and fear.
I get paid 0 overtime no matter how many hours I do. Techs under the union get 1.5 time on weekdays, double weekends, triple on holidays.
I get nothing extra for working in adverse weather. They get an extra £20.00 per day for working in winds above 20mph or rain of more than 0.5cm.
I get offshore allowances and overseas allowances. They get at least double what I get, in some cases triple (working in Nigeria for example I get an extra £250 per day, they get £500)
Had a bloke last year whose base salary is £25k. He took home over £80k as a result of all the extra allowances and overtime techs can get.
Glad you managed to find a new job though!
