thinking of the msi myself, I have the gigabyte and its constantly crashing on me had to revert back to my 7850 had no crashes since, plus my fan doesnt sound terrible

Make sure you have enough space as the toxic is a big card. The cooler overhangs the pcb by quite a bit and it's takes up a bit more than two slots. I would prefer the toxic to the vapour x mainly cause it has better build quality as well as a great clocker.

thanks for your help ill see which card to buy as I am very temped to get one this week hopefully

I have decided to buy the toxic although it is a little more expensive than the others.

It also uses 2 8 pin connectors rather than one 6 pin and one 8 pin connector so my 700w PSU should be enough?

Also is having 6 to 8 pin adapters just the same as having Molex to 8 pin?

Thanks

Honestly if you were gonna buy a toxic, I'd wait for the non ref 290's to drop. In the mean time save up a bit of extra money to put towards it. Currently at £270 (toxic) and £330 for a reference 290 with BF4 key which u can sell for 20 ish i guess, you're looking at what £60 or £40 if you sell the BF4 key. Its worth that extra.

If you have your heart set on a 280, I'd defiantly take the toxic over the Asus.

As for your PSU @ 700 watts, yes it will be enough. PROVIDED <<< that it is a good solid brand and not some cheap junky stuff.

personally I wouldn't trust 2x 8 pin adapters(molex or otherwise), 1 at a push but not 2 especially not on a 'no name' psu you have.
you were told this last month when you were asking about upgrading to 7970 matrix.

Either adapters should work fine although lot's of people usually would use the 6 to 8 pin adapters that come with many graphics cards. Your 700w PSU should be more than enough for the 280X as long as it's not defective.
