Fireman's uniforms in the basement of the hospital.

I didn't say the journalism is accurateWeird they said those flower tanks are in the zone? They're in Kiev by the Rodina Mat?
Whats the story behind that?
Is that the Polish guy? A friend of mine went on a Polish expedition recently and got some really cool access. Stayed in zone past curfew watching films on a projector in Pripyat, boat trip on the lakes and putting together a helicopter fly over I believe.
The first responder fireman who worked at the plant all got fatal doses. They cut the contaminated clothes off them in the local hospital, before shipping them to the radiation clinics in Moscow, and ditched the clothes in basement for lack of a better place. These outfits are some of the most radioactive things in Pripyat city.
edit: If you want to read about the disaster as a real time account get this book. Really good although the translation lacks a bit in places;
Chernobyl Notebook by Grigoriy Medvedev
