My Credit card payment got blocked this morning when i tryed to order two GTX 780ti's from OCuk because my credit card company detected the payment as an unusual activity and blocked it....:(

So now I missed out on the 780ti deals because of my stupid bank...

This is the second or third time I had this happen to me when I ordered from Ocuk..but never anywhere else..

A call should have immediately been able to sort that.

If you make a purchase with a card that does not normally get large payments you can actually call the bank and warn them ahead of time.

Open a thread on the CS forum and ask nicely? R.E. the card thing, HSBC used to do this with my credit card. Especially annoying when hiring a car in Italy...

I get this too. I'm with RBS and being a poor student i rarely buy PC bits, but when I do its something i've saved up for all year and usually drop 500-1000 at once. My last 2 purchases were not blocked, but before that my last 3 or so were its always when i'm ordering at like 4:40 to get in on the next day delivery before 5pm too. and by time i've called bank and got it sorted i've missed the delivery slot. And for some reason its always a thursday too. So not only do i miss getting it friday, I have to wait until monday/tuesday to actually get it.

I think they do it purely to **** me off.

I think the bank has an "Is he ordering from OCUK? check. Is it 4:40pm? Check, Is it also a thursday? CHeck. If true block card for the lolz." type deal.

Yes I also wanted to get the order in today hoping I would had them to play with over the weekend..

I'm not sure it is the same thing but i can't order online from OcUK using my Natwest Visa Debit card.. i get to the secure transaction page where it asks me for 4th 7th and 10th characters from my password and no matter how many times i put the correct letters in, it refuses the transaction and forces me to order over the phone.. it has only happened on OcUK so far. OcUK are pretty good though, 1 minute phone call and my order was en route .. Haribo and all :D

Natwest do this to me as well. They do it for major PC purchases, when I travel and for my last annual car insurance payment. Sometimes I get a call from a robot asking me to confirm my purchase, but not always.

I also had to enter that password thingy with ocuk..

Had this happen to me also gave them a ring answered a couple of questions about recent transaction dates and it was all sorted :)

I now it annoying when it happens but im kind of glad it does in a way :p

I have had this in the past with OCUK using my Dad's credit card (with his consent) and with my own debit card (both Visa). Haven't had a problem recently as I have used the same card with them previously, but I missed a saturday delivery option once because of this, and had to wait a week to build my new rig. That was a bit disappointing, but then, I don't ever try to make purchases > £800 anywhere else...

Hi there

Just for you, I've just told the system to put 5 more cards on offer, DO NOT MISS OUT THIS TIME. ;)

The homepage should show 5 available in a few minutes. :)
Much Thanks Gibbo

But is there a reason why it will not let me add two ??

Edit
This promotional offer is limited to one per customer only

Gibbo obviously likes you more than me :p

In any case, I just realised I would have to wait 3 days for my salary to be transferred back to my Uk bank account so wouldn't have been possible tomorrow for me anyway. Moving country continues to throw up unforseen issues. Oh, well, the things we do for love :)
