I can't say I've ever had problems with it on any platform, be it iPhone, iPad, Mac, windows, or any connection, 3G, old school broadband, infinity and even now aboard.

There must be something wrong with your set up somewhere.

Fair enough - I've tried it on my MBP, my Android phone, and a Windows PC at college...maybe it's just buggy ;)
 
Though I would say the add to basket button does not appear immediately when the clock hits 0:00. There is a delay on purpose when the space goes blank and the time between it hits 0:00 to the button appear is random for each product so that may be what you are experiencing and thinks it isn't refreshing. If you leave it, it will and shouldn't be missing out if you have a low ping connection.

Just button bash that mouse at 0:00 until it appears! Try it on the next item, anything, you don't have to buy it.
