So, upgraded Mobo CPU & Mem with some help from guys on here. Got the delivery yesterday installed all fine Impressed with the H80 cooler 23C with ten min install!

My Problem is getting the ATI 7950 recognized in the BIOS & Obviously the OS (Win7) I have scoured the web and found this has happened many times with the Mobo :(

I have upgraded Bios to newest stable & Beta to no avail still same issue. Just black screen no output, PC continues to boot into windows just no display, swap to internal graphics and all is fine.

Last ditch effort decided to try the X8 PCIE port & that is fine! works fine installed Catalyst played BF4 all is ok. put Back to X16 and 0 output again!

So to me that proves the card is fine (only 2 weeks old) and the PSU can run it (Corsair modular hx 620) so it seems to be the X16 port thats borked??

I have done some research i dont intend to use XFire and the diff between X8 & X16 in PCIE 2 in games seems to be 2-3 FPS and in PCIE 3 its even less from what other places say which i will be using once i swap the I5 2400 to top end I5 or I7..

But would be nice to use x16 and not think hmmmm i could be getting an extra 2-3 fps ya know..

In the X16 lane the fans do spin up both PCIe are in just no output :(

Anybody have any ideas that i haven't tried?

Ahh gutting - had my hopes up too, still the same no joy.

Even swapped it for a small old PCIe card that dont need external power - same thing fine in x8 not in x16.

As as suspected the x8 lane blocks the only pci slot on the board so cant used the new soundcard!

Looking physically at the x16 slot some of the pins on the right side of the slot dont seem to be in the guide lines that are in the slot they seem to be sticking out a bit.. Noticed this when 1st took it out of the bag - but havent built PC since q6600 - thought might be a new PCIe 3 thing...

Have sent OC a mail - might have to RMA it unless they can suggest somthing :( wasted 2 nights on this and will have to strip it all out to swap over! What a pain!
