So does the free 14 day PSN+ trail let you get the free games etc.
should do but you wont be able to play them when it expires I believe until you renew.

Pro-tip.
On launch day servers get hammered as everyone downloads their stuff, the entire EU is effectively DDOSing their servers at the minute. Always download any updates beforehand to a usb stick.

It should tell you with a popup and it will be in the notification area, I think.
I've had launch day Xbox 360's, PS3's, Wii's, PS4's and Xbox One's.
The PS3 was always notoriously the slowest to download things in my household.
The Xbox One downloaded the 500MB patch in about 15 minutes. Whether this is Microsoft's much touted "300,000 cloud servers" or less people on day one, you can decide that for yourselves
But 5 hours is ridiculous... it's crashed 5 times now and I need to restart. Shocking.
Really looking forward to getting into this and playing some Killzone/BF and some Knack and Playroom the with girlfriend, but I can't see this happening anytime soon

Just got mine up and running:
I accidently switched it on whilst no HDMI was connected and got three beeps. Something to look out for if you have this issue is that it will probably not be able to detect what on the other end and stops from booting.
Got mine routed through my Yamaha amp to my telly and its booted into the OS fine. Time to whack in the 750Gb SSHD
