People that 'joke'

Vidar's gf.

Haha whoosh indeed :D though now everyone at work thinks I am strange :(

Banter (or whatever word you want to use) if done right is funny. I agree that in most cases there is an element of truth to it but it doesn't mean it has to be malicious or any form of bullying.

Animals (particularly males) play fight frequently. We have just evolved to using words. It's preparation for a proper verbal fight and essential for developing a thick skin for those proper verbal fights.

If it gets to you too much, have a quiet cry when you are alone ;0)

Depends on what was said, this sort of thing is about specific. I always try and avoid pointing out people pitfuls if they can not change it. But i have no problem with being the but of a joke at times and i encourage it because if everyone is laughing then i am happy. But i don't tolerate being taken for a fool and been made to look like a fool. I will complain about that if someone tried to do that while in a group.

Give as good as you get even if it means being quite horrible about the person. I got a bit sick of someone (who is considerably older than myself) at work taking the mick constantly so I would always give as much or more abuse than I received.

Being patient and vindictive paid off and he no longer even says hello in passing, quite the enviable position.

Me and my group of friends are quite weird, in that every single character flaw, every screw up, every tiny mistake gets jumped on and we get slaughtered for it. It's just the way we work. A cousin from the US came over and it took him a few days to realise that we don't actually hate each others guts, but really it's just our sense of humour and we get a great laugh.

I'm perfectly happy with this situation, nobody talks behind backs, nobody bitches, if anything has to be said it gets said. Absolutely nothing is off limits, and that's the way it should be.

This.

If they are one/some of your closest friends it means nothing.

Indeed. There's a difference between having a laugh, ribbing on someone/being ribbed on and being made to look/making someone else look like a fool.

The latter I won't tolerate, and will pull people up on it pretty sharpish.
