*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Hi, my son has got his new ps4, cannot connect to psn server > Newcastle upon tyne.

Been trying for over 2 hrs, server under maintenance, what a utter fail its a good job my sons not a screaming 8 year old spitting his dummy out.

Mine has been perfect, playing bf4 for several hours can't hear it either. I've got issues with the pad, my thumbs are hurting, guess they are too hard and stiff, the ridge does not help either. no doubt will get used to them tho. The handles are much better but I would prefer them to be a bit more chunkier so they fill the palm up more.

I'm just trying a different television at the minute, but I'm so down about this at the minute :(.

I've got to get off to work in a minute too.

Anyone got a link to the web chat thing for Amazon? I can't find it.

To the people that have had the blue pulsing light problem.

I have heard this happens at the point of turning the console on. Within a number of seconds the light should then turn solid white. Is this correct?

Have you tried booting the console into safe mode and re-initialising the console? (hard reset/clear HDD)?

To do this you have to turn off the console completely. After unplugging from the wall, hold down the power button to make sure it is turned off, apparently it may still try to turn on (it beeps and the light comes on) this is from residual power in the console. It should then fall silent. Turn it back on at the wall and hold down the power button for at least 7 seconds to power it on. It should beep and go into safe mode.

Do you then get picture/audio?

Once in safe mode try updating the firmware to version 1.51 using a USB stick.

Got mine, I like it. Nice and small, relatively quiet under load. Seems to get rather warm but thats to be expected. Controller is awesome.

Killzone looks nice, but I think I have been enjoying high end PC's for too long. Im sure as the months go past the games will get better and better looking as they work out how to get the most out of it.

Lack of settings in the OS, you can tell they rushed it. Overall, nice machine.

I get the blue slow pulsing light and no signal.

If it doesnt, try this:

Erugh, you posted this before.

No, the light does not turn white, it pulses blue and the television(s) I have tried it on just say no signal.

Really, inexcusably poor if this is a dead console.
