Motherboard Crisis X58

So my x58A-UD3R has just crapped out on me, and I'm severely stuck on what I should do. On one hand my i7-920 is a great processor and I have no need to upgrade, but the x58 motherboard range is dying fast and not even remotely dropping in price since they're just being discontinued. Best thing i can find right now is a Sapphire Motherboard on amazon for £90.

So should I bite the bullet and go computerless for a few weeks/months until I can buy a new motherboard and processor; or should I pick up this crappy motherboard, wait for Skylake, and sell the PC as a whole and make a new build?

Edit: In case anybody wanted to help troubleshoot the UD3R, I have tested it with a different PSU, processor and RAM, removed the battery overnight and tried to boot into BIOS_B but nothing worked It will power on for about 2 seconds before SB_LED3 voltage light flashes red and the computer instantly resets. No time to post or get into the bios.

Edit2: Had another look at the board, the moment it powers up that SB_LED3 light flickers red, and I also noticed that there are LEDs flickering red underneath my NB heatsink, if this helps anyone.

Never really trusted fleabay for computer parts.

Edit: I see a P6T for £95, everything else is £150+ or broken.

You could try gigabyte for repair of the ud3 but how much it will cost Idk,seems like board fault if that led is flashing

It doesn't matter, they only ask for the serial number printed on the board, they fixed my ud5 for me free, even out of warranty

Oh really? I've never sent anything back before, and I'll have to wait until tomorrow to get back to my board at home to note it's serial.

I'll follow up when I get a reply.

Have a look at the capacitors around the board, as very often one of them will have blown. They are easy enough to replace with a little soldering knowledge.

So gigabyte got back to me. The board is 10 months out of warranty And there is nothing they can do. £50 nonrefundable handling fee and they don't even know if they can fix it.
