Humax 'BT Vision' box without BT connection

Hi all. I'm still pondering on getting a YouView PVR - I had been looking at Humax DTR-T1000/1010.. which are what the BT Vision boxes are (afaik). The BT Vision boxes seem to crop up second hand quite often - what happen if I plug one into my Plusnet connection. Would it fall back to working as the retail Humax box would, or is it crippled with BT firmware - and if so, can that be removed?

Works just like a retail box. I bought a second hand one and it works great on my Virgin 60meg connection.
