Nvidia 780 SLI on what PSU?

nvidia personally recommend 850w I believe. 750 might be fine if you aren't overclocking.

A good quality 750w PSU though, that is. Not some £30 one.

It's not so much the power rating that matters, but you're pushing the components harder, as they're pretty much running at max all the time.

If there is room to spare, the hardware isn't as pushed. 750 running at 750, 1000 running at 750, for example.

Last thing you want is overly pushed PSU that will go bang taking a 780 with it.
 
Even with his cpu and 2 gtx 780's overclocked to their max the system will likely never exceed 550w, in most cases it will be under 500w. If he had a more power hungry cpu then I'd say 850w but with a 2600k, 750w is the perfect capacity imo.

Nothing wrong with running a psu @ around 75% load. Not to mention there can be a pretty hefty price difference between. The 750w will also be more efficient when not gaming.

Why spend all that money on a system (sli 780 system approx £1200)

then scrimp on a good psu by trying to save £40-50

You may be prepared to risk it - I certainly wouldn't

This^^ 850W will give you headroom and total peace of mind, don't forget people change their GPU more often than the PSU, who knows what power the next gen GPU's are going use.

I'd have this at least tbh, look after those 780's.

I pull 900w at the wall with a 4930k and tri-titans, allowing 10% efficiency and that's 810w at the psu, knock 200-250 off for removing 1 card and you are around 550ish

750w is fine as long as it's a decent one
