We really, really need to buy a striker. In a similar position to Arsenal where if we lose our main men (in their case man) we're going to have real problems.

Disagree. Arsenal have midfielders who are chipping in with goals every game, we have no one. It was no surprise to see us go for Mikhail Gorbachev, or whatever he was called, in the summer and we desperately need help for Suarez now.

Yes, I know that - but if they lose Giroud who's going to do their point man job? Bendtner?! Giroud's playing a very important role, just like Suarez and Sturridge are for us.

Fair enough. I totally disagree - his ability to hold the ball up is what allows the midfield to play.

Naughty from Vidic there, had no choice though.

They didn't show good replays, if Vidic doesn't do that, is there anyone else there to tackle Defoe? Because it looks like he can get to the ball and shoot straight away... was wondering if it was a red. But both angles on the replay didn't show the edge of the box so I couldn't tell if anyone else was close enough.

You could argue Sturridge is far more important to us than Giroud is to them. Without him we halve our goal threat, without Giroud they still have goals from midfield.

As Purdy said though, both Rodgers and Hodgson have played him when he's clearly not been fit enough to play so the rest might do the rest of his body the world of good.
