Built my first PC yesterday and after installing all the updates and drivers when I went to use a USB 3 device got a message saying would get faster transfer speeds if the device was connected to a USB 3 hub, device was connected to a USB 3 hub!

Don't know what else to do could someone please advise? Mobo is Z87-D3HP 4670k.

Are you plugging the device into the rear ports on the mobo or the front case ports? If it's the rear, make sure you have plugged it into one of the blue ports as these are the USB 3 ones. It's the same for the front case ports (if they are plugged into the USB 3 header on the mobo)

okay downloaded the driver, extracted and ran it and still same problem. can someone tell me where in the o/s i can check to see if the driver has installed properly will it say somewhere that i have usb 3 connections?

Also make sure USB 3.0 is enabled in BIOS.
