I hope they don't screw this one up, better put a zero-PWM backlight on it and no horrid resolution ruining matte film!

See, that's the kind of news that makes me drool.

Obviously there is no mention of price but still...
Does anybody know if text (menus in programs) is easily readable on a 24" 4K monitor? I don't mean desktop icons size and DPI tweaks. I mean once I launch my programs of choice (3DS Max, Photoshop and so on) would I be able to read the menus inside or the text will be 4 times smaller than that of a regular 24" 1080p monitor? Don't know much about 4K yet hence the question.

Great find, mate.
Cheers.

Sure, all you need is this:

Dell are also apparently working on a 28" version P2815Q. About time monitor resolutions started to increase, think the prices will be rather high though.

According to this the 28 incher will be under $1000. Could be some comprimises compared to the 32 and 24 inch ones but seems pretty sweet anyway

There's also the 32 incher which is probs using same panel as the Asus and others

It will be very interesting to observe the practicalities of running a display with such a pixel pitch - 185 PPI is rather extreme for a monitor. Definitely looking forward to getting my hands on one.

For those interested in something in the slightly larger but perhaps more practical size AU Optronics also have a 27" 4K panel in the works. I'm not really sure about this 'P2815Q'. The model code would suggest it is a member of their Professional series (like the P2414H) rather than UltraSharp. I am expecting if that is the case you can expect a standard rather than wide colour gamut, fewer ports, no hardware calibration and the use of a mysterious panel nobody yet knows about. I'm personally awaiting something official on that one before reporting on it.

Personally, I find this rather hilarious. I'm finding it hard to even justify 2560x1440 on a 27" monitor, and now they're bringing 3840x2160 to a 24" !?

Well, let's just hope the GPU manufacturers will try to keep up (and I don't mean just saying "go for Quad-SLI"), so I can keep using cheapo GPUs to run my system at 1920x1080. :D

It's about time 4K came to the 24" monitors, it's the right size for me. The real question is though... How would Windows handle the scaling? I remember with Windows 7 it was pants but I haven't tested it with 8/8.1. And then the price... and not to mention having a GPU good enough to run games on that resolution. Guess I'll be waiting a couple more years before I decide to invest into a 4K screen.
