*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

Can someone please make a short video showing the web browser and Youtube on the controller? Im tempted to get a Wii U for alternative gaming and to use in replacement from my S3 for browsing the web whilst the Mrs watches that Made in Chelsea ****

You'll find this sort of thing on youtube - just search internet browser wii u.

In short there's not much to see - it's a rock solid internet browser that plays youtube etc vids gamepad or tv - it' just works. No flash tho.

I use mine as a tablet nightly whilst the Mrs hogs the iPad.

Yea but the £200 bundle comes with mario and luigi u.

Say 35 for mario 3D and 30 for an extra controller....I like the hat but not £35 much :D

Picked up WIIU today on amazon, 199 with lego undercover, my christmas present so can't use till Christmas Day, totally new to wii U whats a good site to get to grips with everything?

The Lugi/mario bundle is £250 on amazon

Is there any deal at £200 or not?

What is the best deal for the Wii U at the moment?

Is the £300 deal from Nintendo decent?

I want the new Mario obviously! I also have no Wii accessories, so will need a Wii mote etc

I believe if you buy the Wii mote + you get Wii u party (or something like that).

So would it not be better to get some kind of Mario bundle and then buy a Wii mote separately?

Has anyone got Deus Ex - it looks awesome - I'm just wanting some reassurance before I order it :p

I'm only about 5 hours in, but it seems like a fantastic port so far - gamepad integration is good, perfect for that RPG-like inventory management : ).
On the opening sequence/tutorial(where you just control the camera and observe things going on), I was a bit worried as I could feel that the frame rate was dropping a little below 30fps. However, during actual gameplay/missions it's solid - haven't noticed a drop at all so far outside the observing/safezone environments, and everything looks nice and sharp too.
Not sure if you've played a previous version of the game but the overall production level feels quite high - good voice actors and lore/content etc. A very nice 'choose action or stealth' game too, I love rolling around between cover :).

Looking forward to going back to it once i'm burnt out on Mario 3DW

Looks like it might just be photobucket that's re-sizing them.

On photobucket goto User Settings > Albums > Customize Upload Options

There's a check box for "Display my linked photos
in their original sizes"

Failing that, you could check your TV resolution settings on the WiiU, I doubt that's the issue though.

I've got Deus Ex, never got round to playing it when it was originally out, is a really good game, I like the options you have about how to approach combat etc so it makes it feel a bit unique.

So just the other day bought a Wii U with Lego City and Lego Batman for our family Xmas pressie.

As I'm the computer expert of the house, and I recommended the Wii U as best family gaming solution, my wife is asking me all sorts of questions now about what we'll need - extra controllers? Family games? One of those white dance/balance step things?

I know nothing about consoles (this will be my first ever one) so don't know what to say!

So, for a family of four - me, non-gaming wife who wants fun family games, two boys coming up for 7 and 5 - what should I be looking to get as a minimum? Also not clear what they come with as standard.

Extra controller(s)? And what type? Doesn't the Wii now have several types?

Family games? Sports, dance, karaoke, etc... which are the best? My wife likes the look of The Cube since she likes the TV show, but I've yet to find a TV game tie-in that wasn't utter pants.

Other peripherals? There's mention of a Wii bar - is that like Kinnect? Do we need a dance/balance step thing for dance games (my parents had one for their Wii Fit kit thing that they never used)?

Cheers!

Nintendoland, Wii Party U are what you need. If you want a 4 player racer pick up Sonic All Stars Racing.

Personally for a family machine I'd pick up wiimotes if you can stomach the cost.

Remember Wii Party U comes with one wiimote so buy another 3, if you want to contain the costs maybe go for imitations rather than Nintendo ones.

Ign have just reviewed Wii Fit U - check that out.
