I know there's a few threads on this, But with new mouses constantly on the market views change.

GF asked me what I want for xmas my old death adder one of the buttons has had it, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to replace my 5 year old deathadder and mouse mat.

Things the mouse must have.
  1. Accuracy (I do a lot of design work when not gaming so accuracy is the main thing for me on a mouse)
  2. DPI change button that works on the fly, Sensitivity button on the mosue that works on the fly
  3. forward and back button where thumb sits, they have been there for so long im just used to them now its second nature.
  4. High build quality Im using the mouse on average 8-10 hours a day for work and all evening for gaming.
  5. I prefer the mouse to look like a mouse and not some military grade hardware

Can anyone also recommend a high quality mouse mat that works well with the advised mouse.
Been looking at a G400s but reviews say the cables rubbish and it gets tangled a lot. Also it feels very light and not well made. Anyone got one agree with the statement.

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps.

I would recommend the Logitech G500, it has all the features you have listed and i have had mine for over 2 years now and its been great.

G500, everything you want, cheap, incredible build, Logitech.

Avoid Razer's overpriced nonsense.

G440 is Logitech's hard mouse pad too, I've got one in the post so will let you know how it is with my G500.

Corsair M65 for something not Logitec

3 DPI settings near mouse wheel, customisable in software
1 x "Sniper" button - customised DPI near thumb tip placement, mines is currently set to 200dpi for sniping in fps.
2 thumb buttons for fwd/back

Think it retails at around £55 on OcUK. Good build quality and feels/looks nice.

Interesting not a mouse I've heard of or tried. Hows it compare to the G500 ? First Ive saw of corsair making mice.

Pretty sure the G400 is better then the G500, G500 has a stupid place for the sensor, it weighs more and can have acceleration issues. But then again I could be wrong :)

The G500 has weight adjustment. The sensor is at the front, middle of the mouse but isn't an issue and feels fine.

Can't see ant acceleration issues myself either.

I've never had a Logitech so I wouldn't be able to compare, its for me anyway a very solid mouse. Worth the money.

Think they have a few different mouse's (sp?) out now. Worth checking out if you are in the market for an upgrade.

I have a shogun bris ballista mk-1 and it is top quality. It is great on the price to build quality/features ratio too.

Only thing is that is does look a bit on the military side.
