Are all modern graphics cards double thickness?

this might sound a stupid question but are all modern GPU's double thickness?

I'm looking to get a new NVIDIA card, Geforce GTX660 or above to offer me the ability to run 4k resolutions at 60Hz, support G-sync and give me a DisplayPort output. this is one for desktop use, not gaming so the cheaper the better really in that range.

Anyway, my current PC is a shuttle, and so the case size is very restrictive. Are there any versions of those kind of cards which are only a single PCI thickness, as the double thickness cards won't fit in my case!

Haven't seen many single cards. Have you thought of upgrading your case?

i think i might have to, although that then begs the question whether i need to upgrade the rest of it. to be honest it's an old spec, but does fine for what i use it for (office, web etc)

maybe i can just take all the components out of the shuttle case and put them in a slightly bigger mini ATX case or something to give me room then for the double width graphics card

Question - If it isn't for gaming why would you need G-sync?

to be able to test it potentially as a feature, with compatible G-sync monitors (as i test monitors and do reviews) :) It's more for the 4k support anyway, but those GTX660 and above all seem to support G-sync anyway

Mini atx would be the best choice. I've seen very ,very small atx cases that would fit 2 slots.

i thought all the modern shuttles had the pci-e slots arranged so it was possible to fit 2 slot cards in them? Which one are you using?

Most Shuttles seem to have a proprietary sized motherboard so you can't just swap the innards into a microATX or ITX case. My current LAN machine (an 1155 based SH61) can accept ITX boards in the case, but the included motherboard doesn't fit into any non-Shuttle case. Pain in the rear as I'm bored of the look of it but happy with the performance!

A cheaper option then having to buy a new case/Components is to do this ;)
