Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [30th November - 4th December 2013]

Because carrying one injury can't possibly cause another.

Hodgson has just told you what he did wrong regardless what happened to Sturridge, he was injured and he played him in a nothing game?

“They are better getting injured now,” said Hodgson. “In one way I am sorry he can’t play, but in another part of me thinks ‘well, better now than later’.”

lol

One injury can cause another, but he had A DEAD LEG. It's a nothing injury, and he played fine AND the entire medical and management staff at Liverpool deemed him entirely fine to train after this ordeal he suffered days before at the hands of Hodgson..... He also didn't say injured, he said not fully fit. If I haven't trained for 5 days, I won't be as fit as I was 5 days ago maybe, doesn't mean I'm injured.

99% of the time you cause ankle ligament damage via a bad tackle, via a bad landing from a header, turning and slipping and your ankle turns over, Suarez, and obviously many other things. Having a slightly bruised muscle a week previously, does not cause ankle ligament damage.

With a dead leg, it's not broken, he'll be doing rehab, he'll be stretching, he just might not be running flat out or in full training. if he'd taken a huge hit in his thigh, then pushed too hard too early and picked up a thigh muscle strain/tear, you might have a right to feel aggrieved although again, Liverpool's medical staff had no problem after he came back from England duty, Sturridge obviously had no problem and Rodgers said he was training fantastically till he did his ankle.

Sturridge has a thigh issue and needs more recovery time from games, he had an injection to get him through the Germany game. Reckless

He was suffering from a lingering thigh injury, he was played 90 minutes of a nothing friendly, could have easily aggravated it more. Could end up compensating in training, more weight on one leg, possibly an ankle injury?

Hodgson was wrong and a massive **** to play him, he admitted he was injured and has said 'they are better getting injured now' Sorry he's a ****.

Your Suarez jibes every liverpool related post are rather funny, he seems to get you in a bit of a fluster

EDIT: To clear it up further, regardless of Studge's ankle injury, he is still a ballbag for playing him 90 minutes when carrying an injury in a complete meaningless friendly, so ignore the ankle injury and he is still in the wrong.

England get knocked out in the group stages, the entire nation turns against the loathsome man and he crumbles under the pressure, develops a drug, alcohol and rent boy addiction and retires never to be seen again.

Please happen.

Really looking forward to the game tomorrow, for the first time in a long while I feel we can go to OT and go for a win. Is it too much to hope for our first win there since 1992 :(

But why is Hodgson a massive wong for playing an "injured" player, but Rodgers isn't for letting an injured player train... under the supervision of who did he do his ankle? This is the ridiculous thing, if Hodgson did the right or wrong thing, if he was soo injured he shouldn't have played, why did the Liverpool staff not think so, why was he training at all? Your own staff and your own manager thought he was fine to train, your own manager has said how fantastically he was training... which really doesn't point to a player who is limping or favouring one leg, does it.

You have no idea how he got injured, but you're blaming someone who wasn't in charge of what he was doing at the time he got injured.

AS for being flustered about Suarez, he has a habit of stamping on players ankles.... it's a rather funny way to point out that a significant portion of nasty injuries that happen in training happen due to contact, because it can happen in game or in training. Bad tackles happen in training, ankles get turned over in bad ankles all the time. the likelyhood is it's bad luck and if you want to assign blame it is one of the other players taking him out.

That you want to blame it on Hodgson is just pathetic really which is all I'm pointing out.

Go make a "how bad hodgson was at liverpool thread" and bash him for something you have at least some genuine basis in reality if you want to bash him.

If the england game had anything at all to do with his current injury, at all, then Liverpool shouldn't have been letting him train, full stop, therefore the blame lies with Liverpool IF you have to blame anyone. Injuries happen, get over it.

I'm guessing you didn't catch the 'regardless of his ankle injury' you know, implying he shouldn't be playing any of our players with any form of injury at all, let alone 90 minutes in a nothing friendly leading to him being on the bench in the derby.

I'm surprised you thought he was bad at liverpool, rather shocked.
