Not really be abroad for a holiday before. My whole family will be going. Ill be taking a load of cash, but not the whole 10 days spending money. I was wondering if I can use my Lloyds current account debit card as I would over here? Ill have to take to the bank to see if there will be any charges if I use the card abroad, although I hate talking to the bank, all they seem to want me to do is get in debt.
Getting a credit card is a possibility if that would be a better option?

Halifax Clarity Credit Card

No charges for using abroad except a small interest charge for ATM withdrawals, but exchange rate is so good, it will still beat any high street currency exchange rate after that small interest is added on.

Whatever you do, DON'T use your Lloyds card. They are one of the worst with about 3 sets of fees and percentages added on. Terrible card to use, so only keep it for an emergency and leave it in the hotel safe.

Halifax Clarity card is the best to take cash out on and generally spend.

You can also get pre-paid currency cards like Caxton FX if you can't get the Clarity card. Not nearly as good, but also handy to have around as a backup.

Go online and figure out charges, i do not have a Lloyds account do i do not know, but they cant be that bad. I get charged £1.50 from halifax, which works out better than any currency exchange as they give live visa rates, and exchanges always increase margins on buy sell.
