Where's a good place to buy Clothes these days

Sports direct and Tkmax do me mostly, sportsD have a decent web site and way more lines than in store.

I'm not shopping in sports direct, not due to the snob factor, but I bought a pair of tracky bottoms (for gym, not for sitting outside asdas smoking a joint) and when I sat down my ar5e went through the back

i thought zara is still ok with their quality, bit on the pricey side tho.

do you get uniqlo in your area? some of their stuff is still offering pretty good value.

otherwise, tk maxx all the way, lol.

The places I've used recently are Asos, Foot Asylum and Burton.. got some nice Hoodies from Burton and Jeans from Asos / Foot Asylum.

Asos jeans are nice but weird, they feel quite 'light' where as the ones I got from Foot Asylum feel like actual jeans (can't remember the brand name but they were in a sale).

Lol, that sounds like a size and quality issue and probably the fault of the manufacturer rather than the seller but I applaud your principled stance.

H&M

Fairly decent quality, but really good prices. Always order online as there are discount codes floating round all the time. Got jeans for £10 delivered, a belt for £4, and nice printed T-shirts for <£8.

Matalan has a decent range at a decent price (they sell some more known brand names, but not likely at low prices) and the quality is pretty decent as well (not as bad as anything from sports direct, but the quality of the £8 trainers from tescos are absolutely horrid as I brought a pair just over a month ago and the sole is already lunch).

Meh, I hate clothes shopping - I can find a couple of items from Next, a few from M&S - the odd item on-line, but nowhere actually sells the style I like.

'Slightly rough around the edges casual' - cult clothing used to stock some, but they went all hipster on me.

As I can't stand wearing anything with a brand label on it so I'm pretty limited by most stores - may have to check out getting some clothes made to fit as somebody mentioned earlier.

TKMaxx, you can get everything you need under one roof, plus they have a range of brands so its more than likely you'll find something you like. Got one of my winter coats from there and always get my jeans from there.

If you are wanting a ski type winter jacket have a look online on Marshall Leisure. They have brands like Dare2B and Reggata at great prices. Bought a Dare2B coat from there for £20 reduced from £100+.

eBay is pretty good too as you can buy from some of the clothes outlets like Debenhams, Animal etc http://www.ebay.co.uk/fashion/gallery

Hi all,

I'm your typical geek who spends more time looking at gadgets than clothes. The time has come where I need to buy a load of new stuff

Winter Coat
Jeans
Jumpers

It's been ages since I last looked and I have no idea where to go. My usual places:

Debenhams (seems to be all mantray now?)
Burtons
Next
M&M Direct

Unfortunately things have changed and the quality had significantly dropped off. The clothes seem to have held the price, but the quality is dire. I've also noticed most places seem to sell the chavy brands which I don't really want.

There used to be a time when Firetrap, Lacoste, Fred Perry, YSL, Hugo were decent quality and wouldn't get you laughed at. Grrrrr, I'm so out of date and totally clueless

Help a geek out lads! I don't want rip off stuff, just something decent :D

Don't be a woman about it, just buy what you like and what is comfortable. Does it matter if it's a 'chavy' brand?

I buy clothes from surf/skate/snowboard shops and camping shops. I find they have the highest quality clothes. If i want to buy some trousers then I don't want these thin tight things like they sell at department store. I want thick high quality trousers and high quality long tops. But also struggle to buy clothes and dislike it a bit.

surfdome
chemical clothing
cotsworld
blacks

But i also use m&s and debenhams.

For Mail order I use Brown Bag clothing and Woodhouse, both are effectively the same company

Hopefully I've not caught you whilst you've got a splitting hangover and have a permaban trigger happy finger BUT !!!!!!!!!!!!!! .....

can you fit into clothes from those outlets ? :D

BTW I'm looking for a pair of cheap trainers .... Is sports direct really that bad ?
//edit got a pair now from SD (30 squid not bad)

Hollister are kicking out 40% off at the moment, for some reason people like to dog on the brand these days as it's aimed more towards a younger lot, but their jeans are real good quality I find.

Lyle and Scott have got a sale on, but i'd hang fire for more discount as it's a little overpriced at the moment.

Joules has some nice knitwear, but not a lot in the sale.

Brook Tavener are kicking out 50% off their Tweed jackets, nothing at all wrong with them either if it floats your boat ;)

As others have said, for generic clothing Asos is good, Next standard for work gear.
