Recommend me a New Gaming Mouse

i used to swear by my razer deathadder.

then i bought a sharkoon fireglider as a backup but like it so much the deathadder is now my backup mouse.

you can get them for just over £20 online and in my eyes they are one of the best bargains out there.

This thread reminded me that I could do with a new mouse.

I'm currently using a cheapo wireless mouse. It was only meant to be temporary when I finally chucked my MS IntelliMouse out but I ended up using it for quite a while.

Having the ability to move the mouse around with zero resistance from an attached cable is brilliant under any application but the mouse itself isn't great.

So I thought I'd check out the latest and greatest in wireless mice and wow they're expensive.

I bought the original DeathAdder, I think 6 years ago, only now it's starting to have an issue. Middle click sometimes registers twice.

It's had some very heavy use.

Going to replace it with another DeathAdder!

Deathadder 2013

I need a new mousemat though for it but can't decide which one, I think it would perform better on a hard mat instead of cloth.

I use a 2012 razer mamba and have only ever had connection issues with it. I won't be buying a razer mouse again let alone a wireless one.

I will say however that when it works it is great, just way too unreliable.

logitech g400

I had a razer copperhead before and the difference going from that to a g400 is night and day, had to use the razer in claw grip and it made my hand ache, get nothing like that with the g400 as its palm.

I personally use a Logitech G9x without the shells - it's the most comfortable thing i've ever used, and i've had the G5, Razer Deathadder and Microsoft Intellimouse (long ago - but that was very comfortable).

I have big hands and grip the mouse solely with my fingertips so I think that's why such a narrow mouse works so well for me - everything is easier to do.
Big hands = small mouse, try it.

The old intellimouse really was just a brilliant piece of hardware.

Does anyone run their mouse through a USB hub? I find the cable for mine occasioanlly drags annoyingly at the edge of the desk (it's actually worn through the braiding), so was considering getting a desktop hub to fix in place, then plug the mouse in through it, but I'm concerned it will add some form of lag or something else I've not considered.
