OcuK's 290 Stock?

AMD have informed me at OcUK is responsible for over 50% of the sales in UK market of R9 series, I think I am doing a very good job. :)

I have dribs and drops of other 290 brands en-route, but shall only put on sale once they have arrived to prevent any over-selling.

got any Unlockable 290's on the way?

intresting thought, but as i paid extra for a unlocked 290 and if it were to develop a fault and had to be rma'd and no unlockable 290's were available to replace it, how do i stand on this, i mean i dont expect to recieve a 290x but i have already paid extra for the unlock, not sure were i stand on this one

That is a good question, because future stock may be prevented from unlocking making it impossible to get a like for like replacement. I think personally I'd be happy with a 290 + the cash difference to a non unlocked version at the time, or given the choice to put the value of the replacement + top it up to get a card, if this happens in 2 years, there wouldn't be any 290/290x's available anyway so you'd likely get a 20nm midrange/upper midrange card as a replacement. But if nearer, the option to either get £50 back or pay £50 more for a 290x.

What you say would indeed be possible. :)

Drop a post in CS, if it's a VTX unlocked you need as I had a couple aside for a project but don't mind letting you buy one if it helps you out. I shall reply to it Friday as I'm at an AMD conference tomorrow.

good job Gibbo, personally looking forward to the custom 290X's myself and will decide then if there's a good enough deal to warrant an upgrade :)

cant wait for the flood of cheap 290 and 7990's and such when litecoin drops in price as everyone will want out and there will be so many spare units floating around

once ASIC scrypts come out, GPU mining will be killed forever. id expect the 7xxx series to drop in value sharply. 7990 has too many issues for gaming tbh.

Really, such as? I'm finding a 7990 much better than my previous 7950 crossfire setup.

Really the only problem with dual GPU these days is people who are stuck in 2006. ;)
Or people living in the past buying old tech.... pffft 7990's.... get the 290's on the go lol! :)

I think im gonna be stuck using multi gpu's now till i have a bad experience. Always lots of fiddling and tweaking to be done with a multi gpu setup.
