Oh aye, it's obvious. There's no evidence for aliens being involved, which proves that aliens were involved because only aliens could have so completely covered up the evidence of alien involvement. Also, the faked moon landing videos are proof of alien involvement because they couldn't have been faked with human technology of that time. The evidence is clear and there's no other explanation.

Well, apart from the explanation that actually is supported by evidence - that the moon landings actually happened.

Given a choice between drawing conclusions from the evidence and having faith in the fantastic and in your own superiority as a Knower Of Truth and Brave Knight of Righteousness, some people will choose the latter. If they preach enough, they can sway people who are ignorant of all relevant knowledge.

Many people are ignorant of all relevant knowledge of space travel or being on the lunar surface, which is to be expected when only a few people have had any training for or experience of either. Without quite a lot of looking at details, almost everyone is going to know nothing about either. People very strongly tend to filter everything through their own experiences of reality and, often unthinkingly, apply their experience of the surface of Earth to the surface of the moon. Of course, that leads to incorrect conclusions. The classic example is the lack of stars. The sky is black, therefore it is night, therefore the stars should be visible. People tend to make that chain of conclusions unconsciously because it is true on Earth. Without reading up on the subject, they wouldn't know that the colour of the sky is due to various effects of the atmosphere on the light passing through it and so the sky is black during the day on the moon because it doesn't have an atmosphere.
