Dealer wrecks 370Z

Yup, shame he wasn't apart of a community like this. It would have gone across 100's of boards.

That customer service is atrocious. Though it does stand out how calm the guy seems to be? Maybe it had a mechanical fault that both him and Nissan knew about? Still odd either way.

No way would anyone let them get away with it so easy and get paid out a minimum sum and leave it and that.

Can remember Gibbo getting a tiny mark on his bumper and he got Porsche to get a new bumper and spray the whole front end, because of it... Porsche dealt with it superbly if i remember rightly with no fuss at all?

Regardless of the private settlement Nissan UK could and should step up and make a goodwill gesture, shockingly bad PR all round for them*

*I'm being gullible and assuming it's all true.

I'd get PMkeates to fight my corner, he loves a good tussle

Looking at the pictures, I know the road where the car crashed. It's really not far away from the dealer, and a long, straight dual carriageway with a 40 limit.

I'm guessing because he's refused a 370z to replace it they've given him base value.

If he'd have taken a new 370z he probably would get a like-for-like replacement due to margins being good on stock cars. Paying out cash is a different matter.

Complete speculation mind :p

That's one big difference between buying a Porsche and buying a Nissan; customer service. Doesn't matter how quick my GTR is, I'd love to have the customer service that Porsche offer, speaks volumes for them as a brand.

If I remember right, wasn't that when he went to get the exhaust fitted and they put the tips on with wood screws?

It's been settled so effectively done and dusted. While it sucks, there is very little to be achieved by this spreading across many forums now. He should have done that on day 1 or at least when Nissan wouldn't get involved.

If there's enough bad publicity things can happen even now.

Did he refuse a like for like Z? Couldn't see a post about it. He's only said he accepted their offer because not having a car was affecting his business - If they'd offered a like for like Z then I'm sure he'd have taken it due to needing the car?

Still, shocking service right there from Nissan and dealership. Makes you want to avoid all things Nissan.

A completely different thread entirely but my experiences with Porsche over the past 3 years have ranged from amazing to so bad they gave me a £500 driving day for free.

My car will be going soon and one of the main reasons will be that my local OPC are generally a bunch of con artists.

The almost complete lack of anger and desire to string Nissan up by the balls from this guy makes me suspect that what's posted may not be the entire story.

A dealer takes his car, rolls it, then fobs him off with a minimal payout and waffle about internal discipline and he just accepts it and says 'oh well, nevermind, wont get another one'?? That's not a normal reaction in my book.

Not sure, Fox seems to think so. Assumed he saw it in the thread that I didn't!

My last car a was an alfa brera and the minute I had any trouble with it that the dealership could not solve Alfa got involved and sorted it. This has left a very sour taste in my mouth regarding Nissan and sadly. because of this I will not be replacing with another Zed.

If the situation was as he described then I'd be absolutely baying for blood, social media, newspapers, everyone would hear about it.

I would be interested to see the CCTV too, seems a real bad state of affairs.

Legally the guy sounds like he has gone by the book and been screwed :(

Oh how wrong you are :p

I can't be bothered to rant about my Porsche after sales experience, but in brief; it was shocking. However I do have to say up until my incident (read total engine failure) they were quite awesome, freebies and shiney courtesy cars couldn't wipe the ten figure bill from my bank account :p
