Hi all,

Have a night off from the kids tomorrow, so was looking to spend the evening in London with the wife. Looking at hotels, and looks like I might book the Pestana Chelsea Bridge. Was thinking of going around the covent garden/leicester square type area which I think would be around a £15 cab ride which is fine (if the tube is closed by the time we want to go back to the room).

So any recommendations on places we could go? We would have loved to go to a burlesque/cabaret night, but with all the christmas do's, they seemed to all be fully booked (to be expected).

So perhaps a meal, then maybe the IMAX cinema, or skating at an outdoor rink, or something? Then a nice bar and maybe a bit of dancing?

Can anyone recommend anything else, or some venues to go to?

Many thanks

Outdoor rink at Somerset House or Natural History Museum is pretty good. Expensive, but good fun if you like skating. Winter wonderland is a bit manic, but the wurst and the beer and mulled wine is nice.

Just dont make it too tiring... you want to have some "strengh" left when you return to the hotel room to "sleep"

Lol hence the reason for the room. She wanted to travel back afterwards, which is about 2 hours. She'll be a walking zombie by then!

Thanks. We actually met at an ice rink, so might be nice.

Jewel Bar in Covent Garden is a really nice bar.
Gordon's Wine Bar at Charing Cross is also good but it's always very busy.

We were in London on Tuesday night, why not go on the london eye and then skating and imax which is minutesd away, then have a walk along the market on south bank. Then walk over the bridge over to St Pancreas and to Covent garden (10 minute walk) to Jewel bar, then on to Leicester square (another 10 minute walk), fits most of what you want in and more :)

food -wise:
covent gardens - Stick n Sushi < -- nice atmosphere
near covent garden burger and lobster <--nice food and atmosphere, not too dear neither. but get there around 5 to get a seat!
covent garden opera house <-- very nice but very expensive

ice skating:
somerest house <-- get there before 4 otherwise the queue is massive.

Winter wonderland is currently in town if you fancy a packed place full of tourists, rides, market stalls, ice skating, loads of beer and german sausages?

Thanks. Have booked the imax for Saturday. She definitely wants to go the london eye in the dark, then was thinking of Circus or Wam Bam at the Rise club.
