Hi Guys

Im looking for a very high velocity and large CFM fan to push serious airflow between a pair of 7990's

can anyone recommend and serious fans that can do this whilst keeping voltage/amps low?

Dave

Going to either be looking at a 200-230mm fan or a seriously noisy 4000+ rpm 120 to move that kind of air

If you don't mind noise then Delta fan is what you want.

120 x 38 Mega Fast 252CFM (66.5 dBA)
or
120 x 38 High Speed 190CFM (59dBA)

I think the low current requirement in the op probably rules out delta. SanAce have some 137cfm fans with 0.96A draw which is fairly good, though I seriously doubt you'll be able to find them for a sane amount of money. Certainly not going to be even remotely quiet though.

thanks for the recommendations guys, i went for the Silverstone SST-FHP141 140mm Fan in the end as i also required pushing power as well as CFM

the application was to funnel lots of air in between a pair of 7990's running at full whack and by that i mean 100% load 24/7 in a mining rig.

in the end none of that was good enough and PCI-e risers were required to seperate these cards to keep them cool.

FYI on top of that we also have 4 massive intake fans blowing directly at the cards.......these beasts are VERY hot cards

Here are some tips for anyone looking at getting x2 7990's (these tips may be obvious to some people, not others)

1, buy a large case with LOADS of fans
2, if you can buy a mobo with 4 slots and separate these cards as much as possible,
3, dont buy these cards thinking "nah temps wont be an issue".....you are mistaken....lol

again massive thanks to this forum....its easily number 1 IMHO.
