I dunno... People interested in the experiences of the longest serving statesperson alive today. Someone who was integral to many of the biggest events in history of the modern UK , from coronation to dissolution of the empire and many more.

Even a staunch republican must be able to see there is a massive historical benefit in that even if you don't support the monarchy...

I don't think she'll release them. She knows that part of the prestige of monarchy is in remaining aloof and mysterious. This modern 'touchy feely' monarchy is probably more of a threat to monarchy than the the death of Diana ever was.
