Oil&Gas Career Advice?

Can count me in with tendering, project management, production system integrity and process.

Really want to get in to drilling or well completion though just can't find a way to make the transition :-(

I'm a Reservoir Engineer, so can help out with that side of things :p (in addition to setting up the tea room!)

Just take my instruction on where to drill and we'll be away! Unless of course those pesky reservoir engineers tell us pointless things like "it won't flow" or "it won't be economical"... :p

That is withstanding that the drillers actually drill where they are asked.;)

Alx, don't become a reservoir engineer, you'll turn into a grumpy old mand and start enjoying crushing people's dreams. :p

I don't want to become a reservoir engineer, I work with them enough to know that :p. As a chemical engineer by background, Production Technology/Well Performance is about as far as I'd go down that route - I like operations too much atm.

Their subsurface grad schemes are meant to be very good, and in general they pride themselves on their subsurface teams.

Good luck with it :). Maybe I'll see you around sometime :D. If you got the job when would you start, September?

Thanks. Yeah I think I would start in September 2014 if I do well enough on Tuesday, expecting it to be competitive though.

I think it went fairly well but it's difficult to tell, should hear back over the next couple of days. :) Being able to build towers out of paper and sellotape has proven to be a crucial skill yet again.

:D you got sellotape?! you lucky bugger. Let us know how it went as soon as you do though.

Yeah I know what you mean. Haha sounds fun. Where did you interview, Reading or Aberdeen?
