Multi CPU for gamers of normal-single-type CPUs?

Is this possible? I know of Xeons and the server side but things change. Do you think we'll have server features on gaming machines? Like clustering?

I mean say a new mobo 300gbp has two slots both for say 8350 AMD cpus. giving 16 cores. or. A second built PC MOBO CPU GFX RAM and it latches on, meaning:

both PCs are the same but mobo is diff one model one and free it comes with a second. Both PCs connect to a set of displays for gaming?

You can have 2 Xeons with total 24 cores already, only question, do you really need it?
You can stack ram and gpu's as well.
I'm not sure what exacty are you trying to say.
Did you mean, connecting 2 motherboards together?
Again, what for
Current high end gaming machines can play every game at ultra ( maybe not metro, dunno ) so don't see the point of the whole idea.

My friend and I had a thought once when we had both upgraded: what if we could somehow use the processing power etc from our old parts rather than just dumping them (or using them as a backup) in a sort of cloud service. Would be quite cool but not sure if it would ever be feasible for gaming, especially multiplayer, where the lack of latency is necessary

At the moment no, there is no motherboards which will take what you call a "single type cpu" or a generic cpu such as an i5 4670k or 4770k same for AMD equivalent. Even with the 2011 sockets its the same only Xeons will work but this is usually aimed around servers which will actually utilize 2 CPUs and upto 16 cores and beyond. At the moment games/gamers don't even utilize 8 cores effectively so there's no point in such a motherboard or rig
