Richard Dawkins sums up religion

Indeed...The current Pope, who eschews luxury, prejudice, exclusivism, intolerance and authority...instead showing and preaching inclusivity, charity, equality, tolerance and deference to the common people, no matter their beliefs.

Let's do that. Not many will or could live up to that however.

It's a really good point actually. The current pope really does seem like a pretty awesome guy from what I have seen and read about him.

We do not come from apes! We share a common ancestor way way back. I posted some evidence, it's requires you to read it, though, to gain some understanding.

What's your evidence for your belief?

Of course! We eat bananas too! Should have guessed. :D

Seriously though, where is the evidence that we are related to apes? 100% evidence?

I don't need evidence for my belief in God even though, for me, there is masses of evidence all around us in everyday life. Scripture, saints etc etc. things you don't believe in.

I'm asking you to show me that?

There is 100% evidence. We can accurately trace our ancestory by analysing DNA, and I guess there is some sort of commonality in there?

Where is your 100% evidence? I don't want evidence for your belief in God, but for evidence that evolution hasn't occurred.

Do you truly believe every word I'm the bible? Surely some of it has been mistranslated, so one's interpretation could be incorrect, and so how can you be 100% sure? We both know there are mistranslations, which could mean that god didn't write (via whoever) what you read.

Are you not listening?

We share a common ancestor...the evidence for this is inside you...your DNA. You share it with every living thing on this planet to one degree or another....and evolution is not a declaration against God's Creation..it can be an affirmation of it to those that believe in God.

If you truly believe in the literal interpretation of Genesis, explain why one contradicts the other? If they are both the literal truth and not analogous to an universal truth then explain the contradiction.

Blind Faith isn't Faith..its ignorance.

A passage spoken by one the Saints you take you evidence from....

St Augustine: De Genesi ad Litteram said:
It not infrequently happens that something about the earth, about the sky, about other elements of this world, about the motion and rotation or even the magnitude and distances of the stars, about definite eclipses of the sun and moon, about the passage of years and seasons, about the nature of animals, of fruits, of stones, and of other such things, may be known with the greatest certainty by reasoning or by experience, even by one who is not a Christian. It is too disgraceful and ruinous, though, and greatly to be avoided, that he [the non-Christian] should hear a Christian speaking so idiotically on these matters, and as if in accord with Christian writings, that he might say that he could scarcely keep from laughing when he saw how totally in error they are. In view of this and in keeping it in mind constantly while dealing with the book of Genesis, I have, insofar as I was able, explained in detail and set forth for consideration the meanings of obscure passages, taking care not to affirm rashly some one meaning to the prejudice of another and perhaps better explanation.

With the scriptures it is a matter of treating about the faith. For that reason, as I have noted repeatedly, if anyone, not understanding the mode of divine eloquence, should find something about these matters [about the physical universe] in our books, or hear of the same from those books, of such a kind that it seems to be at variance with the perceptions of his own rational faculties, let him believe that these other things are in no way necessary to the admonitions or accounts or predictions of the scriptures. In short, it must be said that our authors knew the truth about the nature of the skies, but it was not the intention of the Spirit of God, who spoke through them, to teach men anything that would not be of use to them for their salvation.

Heed what he says and open your eyes and form your beliefs, not in the darkness of indoctrination, but the light of self discovery and rational consideration of the very scriptures you have faith in.
