On Wednesday, I under went arthroscopic knee surgery. I was under a general aesthetic and come Saturday, I'm feeling great, and a little sore.

I've not been taking the medication prescribed (Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, Tramadol) as I don't feel I need it.

I have in the cupboard, a single bottle of Hobgoblin waiting to be drunk.

Is it safe for me to drink it now?

We are not allowed medical threads but to answer your question - yes drink the bottle of Hobgoblin. In fact drink a few for good measure :)

You should be taking the recommended medication as it'll be for other things that just 'pain' relief.

They'll have told you the answer to this anyway - something like no alcohol for 24 hours, take the pain medication if you feel like it etc...

Probably not a good idea to get so drunk you fall over... but one or two won't matter AFAIK

Take 18 Paracetamol, 12 Ibuprofen and 11 Tramadol, then drink the Hobgoblin.

This will result in rapid cell generation and you'll be doing somersaults around your living room within minutes.

This post is the reason you should not heed medical advice on internet forums
