GTX 770 worth it over GTX 760 @ 1080p?

Looking to upgrade from an HD7850 (just sold), and have settled on a switch to the Green camp for a change if nothing else.

For approx £60 more (on average), is it worth going for a 770 over a 760? I'll be gaming @ 1080p, and will keep the card for around 18m before selling and upgrading again.

Thanks!

Cheers guys - I think you've confirmed what I already suspected!

I'd really like a GTX 770 Lightning, but it's more than I'd like to spend... any other 770 recommendations?

From what I've seen in benchmarks, the 770 will give around 10 - 15 fps more in most games @ 1080p.

A 760 can handle BF4 at 50-60fps and even the demanding Crysis 3 at 30+ fps at high settings. Personally I don't think it's worth the money, especially if you're upgrading again in 18 months. A 760 should do fine until then.

670s might have been cheaper some months ago, but now the cards seem to be hard to come by and also ridiculously expensive.

Stop, you guys are just repeating what's already in my head :D

So, given the choice, I'd rather have a cheaper card and change every 18m, than a more powerful card which I couldn't afford to change for 2-3 yrs.

I guess that's my reason for a 760. Along the same lines as a 770 Lightning, I REALLY like the look of the 760 Hawk. Again though, this may be overpriced for what it is over other models.

One point in favour of the 770 is that you could sell the free games to recoup some of the cost, bringing it down closer to 760 prices.

I don't know how much success people have had selling the codes, though. I have seen plenty listed on auction sites.

I'm able to get a new GTX 760 with the Windforce cooler for £180... this presumably, would be a good deal?
Tbh i never seen the point of the gtx 760, it was a cut down rehash of the excellent gtx 670. However theese are now eol. As said you could sell the free games that come with the 770 to make a few quid back.

What technically is different between the 760 and 670 then?

I've a bit of soft spot for the 760's although theres not much love for them round these parts. The two I had clocked to the same levels as my 7970 Ghz.

760 was/is just slightly priced wrong. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the 760 and mine was an excellent clocker and ran everything perfectly well @ 1920x1200.
