*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

I dont see the issue tbh. Ok, the battery lasts 7-8 hours max but who plays games to that extent frequently? Every night i just plug my controller in before i go to bed and its ready for the next day.

Atleast it gets regular charge cycles.

Battery life is fine, I'm not sure how long it lasts exactly but I've had a couple of long days with them no problems.. with the PS4 ports now powered during standby I just put them onto charge over night, really no issue with them at all.

AA batteries are terrible.

The controller's life seems quite good :).

AA rechargeable batteries are great if you get a decent brand (I got 4 batteries plus charger for €6 at the supermarket (energiser)).

A single set will outlast my "play and charge" by miles xbox packs, easily last a week playing a few hours a night.

If the battery life is only 2 days (6-8ish hours game time) on the PS4, I will definitely look at a battery mod.

I can't believe the only thing I'm playing at the moment on my PS4 is Flower! I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I tried the demo on the PS3 yesterday and had to buy it.

What a delightful little experience. Part "flight sim", part Journey-like meditation. And it really does look and sound better on the PS4. It's stuff like this which makes me glad I stopped being a PC snob. Sony really do seem to nurture some incredible talent.

Speaking of talent, one of the Naughty Dog tweets after last night's video game awards said words to the effect of "it's going to be a great 2014" which I'm choosing to interpret as meaning we'll have something from them by this time next year.

Am i the only one that loved killzone? >_<
Compared to all the Military shooters with there rubbish singleplayers i thought it was a breath of fresh air.The last few chapters had there rubbish parts but overall i enjoyed it a lot.
I dont mind it but I dont really play SP on FPSes, I find the AI pretty damn hard as it seems impossible to get through levels without alerting them...
How is the battery life on the controller? Is it possible to use AA batteries?

Edit: my bro is getting about 4hrs only.
The battery life of the DS4 sucks - they need to do something about the light and allow user control of its brightness/dimness as for the vast majority of the time I cant see what colour it is and I dont think its essential to anything but the camera and move...

Fully expecting that to be fixed in the next patch...

Anyone else's controller stick starting to scuff up? I think all the intense pushing and pressing is having affect :P living BF4 only just finished the boat mission but it's ace! Easier shooting than killzone.

Yup, one of them is rubbing off slightly, particularly during fifa with the constant heaving pressing in one direction to run. I would have thought Sony would have tested these to death. The DS3 sticks were much more robust.

It really isn't good, it lasts way, way less than the PS3 controller.

The old DS3 lasted all day, but given that the new DS4 plays sound, has touch pad and is all round more complicated, we're not surprised by the poorer battery performance.

I don't care, I have four to rotate anyway  :p :D

Captain Planet you got the red and blue ones? Would you mind doing a few pics of those side by side with the black - be good to see the colour difference in one shot - the blue seems a bit too bright/light for my taste and the red well, less said the better :p

has anyone here tried the camera as a mic yet? i have it but aint got any of my friends until Christmas to test it with. I have the old ps3 headset but am i correct in saying its not compatible and have to buy a new one?

I did get both those. If you don't mind waiting out until the morning I can do just that with my decent camera and in day light (camera phone is pants).

Personally I love the red one! I think I know what you mean about the blue. TO me it seems fine, not too light. It's kind of ultramarine blue.

Whenever you have the time really, Ive got 2 controllers so in no rush in getting a third - but theres always impulse :)

Thanks
