I bet that thread title got your attention :p

I have the pleasure of driving the wife to Northampton tomorrow for a conference. Me and my boy (1yo) have to hang around for 6 hours until she's done.

Having done the usual research, it seems like I'm quite likely to die of boredom instead. Can anyone recommend me some things to do in Northampton on a Monday considering I'll have a 1 year old with me?

Is the express lift shaft still there? Go and do a tour of that, and then (be it that you are Irish, don't know why I think that is the case, was it you with the paddy hat on in a hotel room building a fort?) go and do a stadium tour of the Saints ground at Franklins Gardens.

Gatecrash her conference?

Your cute 1yo will attract the bored conference attendees like nothing else. Whatever happens is no more than you are due after being good enough to drive her there and hang around for so long.

This is my favourite idea so far.

Having a 1 year old myself, I would say go to a public aquarium, or something else visually stimulating.
The aquarium has benefits though as you can stay for ages and the little one will need to nap and be changed at some point. I find young kids find the lights and movement quite interesting and usually there are quieter places for naps and for you to chill out :)
