LG G2 or Nexus 5?

I've currently got an 8gb Nexus 4, but I'm tempted by something newer.

The 16gb Nexus 5 is £309 from Play, and the 16gb G2 is £320 brand new from a trusted UK Ebay seller.

Which would you choose, I just can't decide?! :confused:

I would chose the N5 so it's not lumbered with LG's terrible software.

I'd probably set it up the same as I've got my N4, Paranoidandroid with Apex launcher, and I'd be running the N5 the same way.

Had both, like both

Hard to choose, if your used to running on latest android then go for the n5, now with 4.4.1 out it's become even better.

G2 is awesome but lg are very slow releasing updates.

if you plan on using custom ROM, then G2 no doubt.

Have recently switched from using the LG G2 to the N5 as my daily driver since the 4.4.1 update and haven't looked back.

Besides LG haven't even made an official comment as to when 4.4 will be hitting the G2 unlike other manufacturers they have been ominously quiet.

Not that the G2 is a bad device, it's actually very good however if running the latest software is your thing, then go for the N5.

I prefer the screen, much bigger battery and overall design of the G2.

uhm, nope.

the only reason to choose N5 over G2 is pure Android. if OP plans to use custom ROMs anyway, there is absolutely NO reason to pick N5 over G2. It's a worse phone, with better software support from Google.

Just read some reviews about what they've done with it, you'll get the idea... http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...e-held-back-by-some-pretty-not-good-software/ for example, although they don't mention the broken font rendering.

The G2 will end up cheaper and simpler for me, as I've just found out that the N5 has its USB port the wrong way round for some reason, so I'd need a new dock too...

LG G2, better battery, better camera, bigger display... software doesnt make a difference as hes not gona run stock.

Better ROMs for the N5 as well. And as you may or may not know software is what makes a phone. 4.4.1 is a grand example.

What software is the LG G2 ROMs missing that the Nexus 5 custom ROMs only have then?

Missing ? Nothing it just has crappy overlays and slow updates over a N5. Granted you can root and ROM it.

But I would always advise someone to get a N5 over a G2

The decision's kind of been made for me as the G2's sold out, lol!

I might wait until after Christmas now, see if any more deals come along, thanks for all the replies.

+1 Makes no sense yo get the N5 over the the G2 imo.
