Hi guys,

I'm benching a 670 DCII at the moment and am being capped by power. Any ideas how far i can crank it up before the card goes up in smoke?

Currently running at 1.212v and 225w. Voltage i can't screw up any more (that i'm aware of) without hard modding but power i can obviously increase through BIOS.

I often wondered how to increase the power in these as i have a msi power edition but i cant increase the volts with msi afterburner or evga precision. Max it will show in gpus is 1.175 or somit and thats stock volts for this card when in use without trying any tools. :(

Can get to 1300mhz (boost speed) but im power capped so 1300mhz is useless really as fps is just like 1-2 differences from default boost of 1149 and memory i think can go to 1700 at least but again i think power cap is hurting it. Because i dont get increases when i use these frequencies in sleeping dogs benchmark.

Dont want to mod a bios for it either, would have liked a soft way like afterburner etc but they do nothing.

msi gtx 670 power editon OC has voltage locked on the card.
Have you tried running MSI Afterburner version 2.2.3 or 2.2.5 beta 1, and I think you need to use the the same bios that was on the techpowerup review of the card. 80.04.19.00.36 (P2004-0005).

MSI had to nerf the cards, otherwise Nvidia woudn't cover against any RMA's to the manufacturer i.e. MSI.
