Can the CPU be overclocked independently of the RAM?

So I could set the multiplier to 46x and the RAM to 2400MHz or higher?

I'm not too clued up on Haswell overclocking coming from an i7 920 where I overclocked via the bclk.

Yes, the ram can indeed be set independently. Quite a few ram kits feature xmp profiles that will automatically set the rated speed, timings and dram voltage. If it doesnt feature xmp you just have to enter theese settings manually. Cpu clocking is done via raising the cpu multiplier. Which ram kit do you have/or will be getting?

I'm still looking around but want 16GB 2400MHz RAM.

Kit im running in sig, (team group vulcan red) albeit 8gb features xmp, simply selected this in bios then went about applying my previous known cpu oc settings.
