need opinions on my i74770k temp

Looks right for 4.4ghz/haswell

Haswell just simply runs hot,if your worried about 71c in games id lower your oc and CPU v

Me personally is like to stay below 60c when gaming

Looks about right tbh, they are pretty hot running chips. And a cpu heavy game like bf3 does push them a bit. Seeing very similair on mine in bf4, but with a larger dual tower k2 cooler.

does it burn the chip out quicker if im playing at like 60+ temps would another fan in my pc would make things cooler like my cpu at all?, also would another monitor effect my cpu usage at all..just curious?

it wont hurt it,

I doubt another fan would have much affect and cant see another monitor increasing cpu temps

How many fans on the megahelims? Adding a second may help a little but adding extra case fans doesnt really help as the heat is concentrated under the cpu heat spreader. Due to intel using paste instead of solder on the cpu die. Coupled with a thick epoxy glue to hold the heat spreader in place. Another monitor would up gpu usage/temps slightly but the cpu would be grand.

do i have anything to worry about this pc is like 2 weeks old and cost me 1600quid basically, and the heat is bothering me a littler ive seen it go like 60c max so far with bf3 and wow on, im just worried something will blow and i have to send it back which i dont wanna do because the pc is so fast :(

Ive hooked a tv upto my system a few times along with the monitor. Graphics card temps rise a few c as the card is working a bit harder. But ive seen no rise in cpu temps.

Those temps seem high-ish for 4.4Ghz, but if you bought it overclocked, it's been overclocked using a certain template, so the volts are a bit high-ish too. They can be tuned manually but you'd lose the warranty on the OC.

That said, they are still safe, as haswell can run up to 95c before throttling, so absolutely nothing to worry about. Maybe adding another intake fan at the front or bottom could aid the circulation a bit.

What Vcore have you got it at for 4.4GHz?

Just for reference I've currntly got my i7 4770K at 4.5GHz, 1.27V Vcore, 1.85V VRIN and 1.15V VRing and also using a Megahalems (though it's a slightly older rev B) paired with a single Akasa Apache Black fan, all housed in a Silverstone Fortress FT02.

At idle I see typical temps of 20-22 degrees C, and during BF3 I see peak temps of 61-63 degrees C.

If I'm stress testing the CPU I can see temps up to 88-90 degrees C, and with a quick AIDA64 run last night it actually peaked at 97 degrees on one core, albeit very briefly.

If your CPU fan is already capable of generating enough static pressure to force air through the heatsink well then adding a second fan won't help.
