Do you get an Xmas bonus?

We were told that the office would be closed for a day and that we would all be paid (hurray!).

However less than a week later they changed there mind and we haven't heard what (or if) this bonus would be replaced with.

Our contract changed to a different company and I actually got a present, a goody bag. I was absolutely delighted. I havn't had anything the like for a good 10 years at least. Last thing I had was a box of biscuits.

Do get 2 weeks off though.

I doubt it now we've been bought out.

Used to get about a grand, and a day off as thanks under the old company.

New company are tight as duck's butts.

Got a chocolate advent calendar, Xmas party at the end of this week oh & a box Heroes.

Sad but true: more than last year.

We just get a meal paid for... and the 2-5% "cost of living" increase.

That'd be nice, I've been here (under) 3 years and pay is done august->august . Got 6% (usual 3% x2) for first year (and £100 Xmas bonus), then nothing (pay increase/xmas) second year as had bad sales (due to bad weather). This autumn has been good, but we missed out earlier in the year (long winter) so unsure if I'll get a pay rise next year... Fingers crossed the winter is short!

Bear in mind I'm on a pretty poor wage compared to the rest of the IT industry (yet in line with general 'Horticulture' based wages - I'm lucky to be on a salary) ;)

But I get amazing job security (working for one of the largest UK companys in a stable/semi stagnant industry), get good holiday allocation, don't have to work weekends, get healthcare and a good pension. Plus 2 weeks off over Christmas!

It's all relative... My girlfriend used to work selling phones, base annual wage was £11k and she'd regularly get £16k+ on top of that due to commission...! Mobile retail sales have mostly changed now (not so commission based) but car sales have always been very heavily commission based, salesmen easily taking £1k on a £20k sale...!

Should get 500 points on a gift site (fifty quid but tax free), then will get a personal performance based bonus in the spring time.

9%, which was a 20% increase on last year. Have a Christmas do too.

Also had professional studies part paid for and study time given so I take that in to account too.
