Improvements time!

Probably should've started with a before pic lol, but here we go!
Aiming to have everythign finished for XMAS... (ruuuuun)

Back Bedroom:

Patio Doors:

Back and front Doro were horrendously old, the back door was pretty much a wooden frame with some of that nasty paper thin rubbish you find on the back of cupboards LOL!

Patio Doors and the bathroom Windows were new additions, old bathrrom window will be blocked up.

Todo:

Finish studwork and get boards up.
Get plasterer in to skim, kitchen and dining room.
Lay floor
Fit new kitchen
Fit new appliances
Get granite worktops installed

Do you already have your granite people lined up to template as you might miss the templating slots before Xmas then I'd imagine the fabrication will be early Jan.

Last time I spoke to him he said would still be in before xmas, but there was a delay on the plasterer.

That's a very good price you got there! Nice choice of door as well, looks great and a lot better than a horrible PVC door imo.

I'm a little heavier and the wallet a little lighter

£35.99 a box, preferred it to the other stuff I've seen and its not stupidly thin planks

Kitchen replastered a few days ago.
Started lashing up some trade matt watered down a bit on the fresh plaster, jesus wept!
Dunno if its this paint or the first time I've painted on new plaster but its a right PITA to get on and a comp[ete ass to get looking flat lol!

The pluijmber was meant to be here last wed, came today, looked at the job, said he needed to go get supplies. He's just phoned to cancel FFS

Anyone know a plumber in the North East lol?

Sitting here looking for plumbers lol so heres some more pics...

Int hat last pic you can see the pipes that we needed to be moved.
Not really sure he managed it but he boarded and skimmed behind the pipes when I was out lol.

They even filled and skimemd the sitting room part of the new wall section we added.

Goes without saying that what I paid them they did a ****load of work!
Full 9-5 dyas too really happy witht he work they've done and they are now my goto plasterers

Good job this is just base coat, gonna give 2 coats then a proper coat of summit nice.

However due to furtehr delays ont he pipework it's beginnig to look less likely we're gonna be finished before Xmas
That and I'm now full of cold/flu LOL!

You're brave doing this 2 weeks before Christmas! Most tradesmen here disappear from around now till after New Years.

What plumbing do you need? If it's simple, it's worth looking at pushfit, either using compression or solvent weld for waste and putting some flexible tails on your taps. Relatively simple really.

Good job this is just base coat, gonna give 2 coats then a proper coat of summit nice.

Don't worry about it being blotchy, it just means that the plaster is more absorbent where you've painted it - the point of the mist coat is to reduce this absorbency for the primary coat.

You'll see that unless you've really messed up the edges that once the main coat goes on it looks fine!

Yeha there 2 runs of 15mm speedfit we can do
Then there 2 runs of 15mm copper.
And a 22mm run of cooper from the meter to the boiler

Thats the sticking point lol, got majority of a reel of speedfit and a box full of left over fittings from when we redid downstairs.
Stuff is great like

Yeah figured as much as theres a few spots where its pretty much not going on at all lol
The stuff really is being sucked straight in on the majority of the walls tho lol

Example of my misting from last night - did both sides of the column at the same time, the bit on the left hasn't been painted yet, the bit on the right has had two coats of the finish paint.

Big difference

Done a 2nd coat too just to make sure, looks much better
Didn't manage to give the entire surface its 2nd coat tho, feel like death and stood in a bucket of paint so gave up

Plumbers (diff company) arrived first thing this morning and left about half an hour ago
Pipes moved, REady to do the last coat of paint where the pipes were and get the floor down!!!!

@work Fri/Sat, before Xmas deadline dont look like it's happening now
