EK-Ascendacy Vs Aquaero Any Advice?

plus the Aquasuite software has already been out for yonks so less bugs and probably further developed than the EK one.

Me hearts my AE5 :)

Plenty of guides on the aquasuite and how to set up. It's a little daunting at first but after awhile you'll get used to setting it up. It's very customizable and a great piece of kit.

Do not like the idea that the EK requires a 6pin Pci-e connector.
Drop the green pcb but I guess that will happen.

I do like that it can handle a pump using a 4 pin molex.

Isn't the software for the Aqauero in question?

Apparently the EK has better software, also the PCB is in black (green for prototype testing only (guess green is cheapest)

Anyway The EK isn't due out till March, so if you want something soon you're choices are limited

certainly will be interesting to see how this ek one works when it is released. So far i find ek build quality pretty damn good so hopefully they will have put time and effort into development

That's weird that it doesn't appear on the aqua computer site, nice thanks for that.

The track record of the aquaero is swaying me that way strongly, but I can probably wait till march to see how EK does

Yeah wait to see what EK brings to the table, could prove to be a winner. I'm personally happy with the aquero so i'll stay with that.

I have to be honest if it was me I would probably go with the EK.

Simply because I have an Aquaaero 5 PRO and I have no idea whatsoever how to set it up. It came with no manual whatsoever and their website is in German only, Google tries to translate but it isn't always clear, and even then the website doesn't really tell you what to do.

So its fitted and has my radiator fans connected to it but other than feeding my fans their power it is useless. Apparantly you can do all sorts of cool stuff with it but im clueless. Aquasuite is also hugely confusing and again has no manual (you have to download that yourself, and find it).

I would guess that EK would be a little more helpful but then that would probably be naive...

EK manuals are usually designed to be simple enough so will be interesting to see how they tell you want to do. Yeah the aqua is easy enough once you have spent time online finding how to do things :D

Don't give up on it that easy it's a fantastic but of kit and they have made aquasuite a whole lot easier to use. When you start using it to set custom fan profiles based on water temps (or differential temps or component temps) you'll really start to appreciate it. My fans are off most of the time when I'm just doing browsing or office work, they only spin up when gaming or encoding. If you still need help I'm sure a few of us will be willing to give you assistance (in English not German!)

Aquasuite is pretty intuitive to be fair, you dont even need to use it providing you have one of the controllers with the front attached :) Though i wouldn't reccomend it, takes a kin' age!!!

Aquasuite 101:
Update firmware if you havernt.
Click on 'Aquero' move down to 'controller', 'X' out of all the defaults, hit the '+' sign in the top right and choose 'cruve controller' add your data source (temp sensor) add your fans you wish to control via the curve. Either manually select or automatically setup your curve.

My temp sensor is water temp one of these.

Now setting up your fans so they come down in speed and up! :D
Underneath 'Controller' on the right hand side is 'Fan' select that, at the top will show you your fans, just select one and slide the 'minimum power' down to something, i choose 0, as it means my fans dont turn on till coolant temp gets to about 27c :) Then they increase speed slowly, whilst browsing etc they run at 200-300rpm.

Sorry for bringing this back up.
TBH I'm pretty sad there's no sign of the EK-Ascendacy,

Just a quick question to the AQ5 owners,
What cooling are you using? do you have the waterblock or just air?
