The Bureau: XCom Declassified

So why put XCom in the name then?

Sure there's nothing wrong in making any kind of game you want. But why take a name for a game that's traditionally one thing, and use it for something compeletely different?
Because it's set in the Xcom universe has the alien invasion storyline & command elements which are intrinsic to success in the missions, I know what you are saying but this game is not exactly hiding that its a third-person shooter with tactical elements, loved Xcom Enemy Unknown & the original but I really don't have a problem with this game seems solid enough from what I've seen.

GMG have a 25% code that can be used with this again at the moment, takes it down to £20.25. All the bonuses have now been unlocked as well so you get the following chucked in:
Level 1 - Codebreakers DLC
Level 2 - Spec Ops: The Line
Level 3: XCOM Collection (All previous XCOM games)

Seems like one hell of a deal if you don't have any of those, unfortunately I do but still pretty tempted. Just wish I knew if it was going to be good or not.

Mixed reviews so far, but I just took a gamble on it and grabbed a copy from GMG. Seems to me to be a mixture of XCOM and Mass Effect. Now just have to wait until it unlocks Thurs/Fri.

Yeah I did the same. Shame the reviews aren't great, but still looking forward to playing it.

All negative above. I must admit I'm enjoying playing it. And its been a while since ive played a game ive enjoyed.

Just spent the last hour doing the first mission. I like it, I really do - it is like a 60's Mass Effect and also reminds me of Alpha Protocol.

I'm getting a black screen when taking screenshots using Steam. Have to CTRL+ALT+DEL out of it and restart PC. :( Keep forgetting, second time today.

I am enjoying it so far but it doesn't feel very smooth, regardless of of what settings I tweak, like a stutter in the mouse movement when panning. I am also getting shadow and lighting flicker on the Rosemont level that is very distracting. Not sure if it a driver issue or a general problem with the game.

Well I have noticed that its shutters when loading which is almost all the time even on a ssd a bit annoying but I can live with it

Turn off the reflections setting. Helped me a lot ;)

Aye, F12 screws it up.

I turned reflections off and it didn't help, so I tried reducing shadows again and this time it worked when I selected medium. The odd thing is if I then turn reflections back on, the shadow flicker doesn't re-occur but my previous attempt at changing just shadow detail didn't fix it .

I left reflections off in the end as the game feels much smoother with it off and I can't tell much difference visually :).

Well I've found this to be a massive disappointment, from what I read I thought I'd at least enjoy the combat but that seems very awkward and I still can't quite get the hang of it, though maybe I just suck.

And the story isn't doing much for me, plus the game really doesn't seem to run well. It all seems to be severely lacking polish.
