Bloke uses our road as a Car Park

All this over 1 car......if it was a whole host of people filling up the road, so that it made it difficult for the residents or emergency services, then I can understand the reason for complaint....but 1 car.....1 car will make NO difference to anybody, no more than a residents car parked there would.

Calling it unreasonable.....some people are just so sensitive.

"oh no, there is a car parked on my road......im now hugely inconvenienced and must take action"

I had this same sort of thing happen on my road, someone would park their car in front of my house partially blocking my driveway and then would leave it there for a few days. Didnt make a huge issue out of it in all honesty but what happened below was quite hilarious as karma played its part.

A few winters ago, when we had a lot of snowfall...i was upstairs in my room and i heard an almighty bang. Looked out the window, only to see that some car had literally driven right into the parked car. Obviously i went out to see if the driver was ok, he was but his car and the car parked were completely totalled. I guess he was coming round the corner a bit too fast and the car skidded across the road.

Anyhow a few hrs later the owner turns up lol and sees what is remaining of his car, wasnt happy but then i turned round to him and said you do realise you blocked half my driveway. To which he replied, yeh but it isnt your road...i just laughed at him and said you got what was coming to you and he should count his lucky stars that i didnt slash his tires and keyed his car for good measure.

No one really parks in front of my house as they realise that my driveway opening is quite large but this **** decided it was his right to do so....so good that someone decided to total his car.

I had to read the first few posts twice to make sure they were serious... if they were leaving the car in someones designated spot or in a position that made it difficult to get in and out of a drive I could understand it. As it is its pretty much a non-issue :S

GD: proof that people will argue about the most inconsequential things with the same passion as if it were a debate about something that actually mattered.

and the same people who will donate thousands of pounds and kit to someone who's had a really rough time.
Gotta love it!

I remember back at uni it was Pay & Display everywhere, I asked my friends neighbours if I could park on their driveway during the day (as they didn't have a car) and they said yes.

Very nice of them and they saved me around £500 over a year!

Instead of even thinking of keying his car, why don't you speak to him directly one day and sort it out like a normal person.
Most people aren't ****s... Although this thread is showing a fair few

Wow this thread escalated quickly.

It is a GD thread, people (myself always included) will post silly idea's for our own amusement on a GD thread.

No need for everyone to get all time of the month about it.

Someone is asking for help on resolving a situation that can be dealt with properly but the thread is derailed by people being utterly retarded and it's justified as 'becoz GD LOL'.

I saw someone actually park in someones driveway one day, while she went to pick up her kids from school. She just ignored the rather upset house owner when she returned, put her kids in the car, and drove off.
BMW driver as well :p

I'd have sat behind her car, ******* ****.

Only BMW drivers come up with such creative thinking, that's why they're number one. :p:D

Yes not everyone takes life as seriously as you clearly have too.

but where is the precise cut off? A car parking space without restrictions makes that a usable space to park a car.
If you live on a street with unrestricted parking, it is not unreasonable for another road user to use a parking space to meet their requirements.

it is not disrespectful to use a parking space!!
Blocking someones driveway or parking on double yellows where it restricts the road for others would be disrespectful but where there is a legal parking space available and someone needs to park that is perfectly respectful!

I'd say its perfectly fine to leave your car there during the working day, I don't suppose many cars will be there anyway, as they'll mostly be at work (or in this case at the train station) - But to leave the car there and not return to it for 4 days is disrespectful.

I'd probably say that most home owners would agree.

My house in the UK is a few streets away from burnley football club, you can just about drive down the road when theres a match on, if i was going out on a saturday, i would have to stay out until the match was finished or i wouldnt be able to park within about half a mile of my house.

Don't have that problem now as i have a 6 car drive and a double garage and live in the middle of nowhere :)

Also why not rent your drive to him if its big enough, you could make some extra dosh on the side.

Not that this is comparable, as the entire Burnley following won't even fill upa single street. But again, that's for the 3-5 hours of the football match, I'm sure a few hours after kick off there is spaces.... spaces, everywhere!

I second the notion of renting your drive out to him though! Good idea!

I'd have sat behind her car, ******* ****.

Careful, You'll be the "scum of the earth" next for saying what your thinking ;)

As everybody was so against the keying of the car and still continued to believe I would actually do it despite numerous assurances, I have resorted to this.
